Dr. Tan Kim Lim

Dr Tan Kim Lim received his Ph.D. at  Curtin University and is currently a lecturer at James Cook University, Singapore.

Investigating the principles of human resource development and management, Kim Lim’s research seeks to create actionable interventions with impact to create sustainable and behavioural changes concerning the most pressing issues in organizations. His research interests lie primarily in contemporary issues such as on future of work, employee attitudes, and employee behaviours. He also investigates consumer behaviour across different contexts such as technology adoption, hospitality, and tourism. In pursuing such lines of work, much of his recent work employs partial least squares-structural equation modelling.

Kim Lim is an avid publisher and a regular reviewer in several ABDC/SSCI indexed journals including the British Food Journal, the European Business Review, and the Asia Pacific Journal of Marketing and Logistics (see "Google Scholar" for a complete listing).

Other than empirical research, Kim Lim has been commissioned with several applied research from government agencies to private organizations. He has also been invited as a speaker in several regional conferences sharing his insights on tourism trends, employment trends, and the future of work (see "Honours" for more information)

Prior to teaching, Kim Lim spent more than 10 years in the public sector where his expertise lies in the full spectrum of HR work, doing operational HR, strategic HR and national-level HR policy work.

Currently, Kim Lim sits on the editorial committee of the Asia Journal of Business Research, Journal of Global Responsibilities, and Journal of Responsible Tourism Management. He is also an accredited professional member of the Singapore Human Resource Institute and the Society of Industrial and Organisational psychology.

Mrs Ratna Devi
Sessional Lecturer, Business

Mrs Ratna is an associate lecturer at James Cook University, Singapore in the School of Business. She completed her Ph.D in Management and Commerce at JCUS, MBA and MA from Webster University, USA and her undergraduate studies in Economics from the National University of Singapore.

Her research interests are determining and exploring value co-creation strategies with diverse stakeholders to tackle challenges in manpower, time, and financial resources. Her publications appear in high-ranking journals such as the Academy of Management Proceedings and Thunderbird International Business Review. She teaches various business courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels at JCU and was a judge at JCU Singapore’s 32nd Convergence Conference and Design Sprint in 2024.
